A truly nice, stable, loyal man who see's beauty within as well as out, and is able to look at something Calla finds horrifying, seeing the beauty and truth of it. Jennifer is great at two things: Writing strong, likable female characters, and writing swoonworthy, dream men. I get Jax's attraction, even though Calla is naive about men in general. The fact that she grew up how she did, going through what she went through that left her scarred in more ways than one, and yet she manages to escape her small town, her mother and her problems, and go to school? She is strong, and has a good head on her shoulders. As we learn more about her, you can't help but like her. We don't get a WHOLE lot of her in Tess's story, and it turns out, the little we do learn about her, is a lie. I wasn't sure if I was going to like Calla. Calla's personal struggles make Stay With Me a very unique experience, that will keep you hooked to the very end. Calla's story is just as raw and difficult as the past two books protagonists, and gives us an idea of what drugs can do to not just the user, but to the users family and friends. Stay With Me breathes life into a series that would have gotten quickly dull if it had stayed on campus, and introduces us to some quirky new characters, as well as sexy new potential in future books.
